The vest. It emerged last spring and has endured this summer, and you’re wondering if it’s for you.
The thing about trends is knowing which ones to embrace and which ones to skip, but we’re here to offer you a nudge toward the vest for good reason.
It is a great layering piece to add interest to an outfit (which many of you have asked for tips on!), and it’s also a sneaky styling hack:
- Look for V-neck styles—they create a slenderizing line that makes them universally flattering.
- A short, fitted version worn over a dress (or looser fitting top) will control excess volume and cover a belly bulge.
- A longer vest (hitting at the hip or lower) will visually lengthen your frame and provide butt and hip coverage.
We like fabric versions in cotton and linen in neutral colors that will mix and match your wardrobe.
